There were 17 new seats added for this provincial election including an additional two seats for Northern Ontario in the far north of the province.
The NDP managed to dominate in the north at the Liberals expense.
The NDP took 8 of the 13 seats including Michael Mantha in Algoma-Manitoulin who won easily by over 87-hundred votes.
That’s up from the six seats they won in the 2014 general election.
The PC’s took 4 including Ross Romano’s win in the Sault Riding—that’s up from 2 from the 2014 vote.
The Liberals managed to win just one seat as cabinet minister Michael Gravelle narrowly held on to the riding of Thunder Bay-Superior North.
Voter turnout province-wide was up coming in at 58%—that’s up from 51% in 2014.
Here in the Sault the turnout was 55%—that’s up from 51%
In Algoma-Manitoulin, voter turnout came in at 52%—–that’s up from 50% in 2014.
