Here are the stories I was following this morning.

Jon Pardi tells the Digital Journal that he came up with the idea for “Head over Boots” in a dance hall. “I came up with idea for ‘Head Over Boots’ at an old dance hall in Texas. I really wanted to write a song that people could dance to. It made sense to shoot the video there as well – it really brought the concept of the song to life. I just dance like Dwight naturally! And Elvis too – I can’t help it.”

TMZ claims Florida Georgia Line was recently performing in Jones County, Iowa when they refused to allow uniformed officers backstage. The country duo threatened to cancel their gig if they saw any uniformed officers. Local law enforcement refused to give the group a police escort following the show. The band found other law enforcement agencies willing to help.

Florida Georgia Line tweeted: “nothing but love and respect for the police.”

FGL Later Tweeted: ”Hey guys, we’ve just been made aware something happened at a show this weekend involving a police officer. We want you to know that we have nothing but love and respect for the police. We are bummed anyone ever got a different impression. – BK & T”

Luke Bryan says his kids are old enough to go hunting and fishing with him. “It’s just a great way to be a dad and to have conversations with them. They are not on an iPad and they are not watching TV. They are out there bonding as guys. I just feel like my experience in the outdoors with my dad was so important to who I am as a person. I wanna be that for my boys and offer the same outdoor experience for them.”

Blake Shelton was recently asked his thoughts on the Presidential race. He tweeted: ”Hell I might have had a shot this year!!!! Is it too late for me to run? I’ll make Luke Bryan my VP and Adam Levine my bitch… Wow.. Chaos at the RNC and now chaos at the DNC.. I can’t keep up!! Did Clinton really just hire Shultz or is that just gossip?!! I need a drink.”

Sam Hunt tells Sounds Like Nashville that he recently ran into Kenny Chesney at an Italian restaurant in California. “It’s funny, I just saw him. I was in Santa Monica and I walked into this little, bitty Italian restaurant. There were maybe 30 people there and it was full. I saw a guy sitting by the door that looked like Kenny Chesney but I didn’t know for sure if it was him,” Hunt recalls. “It was a low lit restaurant and it ended up being him so we spoke for a minute and talked about how excited we were for the tour but we didn’t really talk about set lists or collaboration ideas. We’ll see. I’d be up for it.”
