It’s National Chocolate and Fudge Day!

Ya know, I just have to see a picture of Chocolate, or Fudge and It makes me grin!
Funny thing is, I really hated chocolate pudding when I was a baby.
Now a Type 2 Diabetic, I can find really great 90 percent dark chocolate which is really good for ya, plus a nice sugar fee chocolate pudding!
Here is everything I’ve learned about chocolate and fudge…all wrapped up in a bar for you!

National Fudge Day is Thursday, June 16th

Studies Show: A new study by John Hopkins University reveals eating a few squares of dark chocolate a day can cut one’s risk of a heart attack because it lowers the risk of blood clotting problems. Doctors found that after the study’s participants ate chocolate their platelets didn’t clot as fast. Less clotting = less clogging.

Cocoa Skin

Scientists at Seoul National University in Korea say eating chocolate makes you look younger by preventing wrinkles. Researchers say cocoa stops the breakdown of the dermal matrix. The cocoa also increases blood flow to the skin thus improving density and hydration.

Chocolate also contains antioxidants which fight heart disease, cancer and other illnesses.

Life Is Like A Box Of Chocolates

A recent survey by gonedigging.co.uk reveals that 66% of regular gift givers believe their relationship has improved as a result of their generosity. Other findings:

– 72% of women say dark chocolate puts them in the mood for lovemaking

– 68% of women are put off by men, who buy cheap chocolate

(Chocolate) Fountain of Youth: Cambridge University scientists have created a chocolate that helps you look younger. They say one piece of Estechoc a day helps reverse the skin’s natural ageing process. The candy contains cocoa flavanols and as much astaxanthin as 300g of wild salmon. Both chemicals improve circulation and blood supply to the skin. Estechoc contains just 38 calories.

Cocoa Puff: Snorting chocolate may become a big trend.

Mary Dunsdon, owner of the Licorice Parlour in Vancouver, tells Global BC, “Everybody loves snorting chocolate. It’s for everybody. For $2 a ‘hit’ anyone can try snorting the chocolate, which is a very fine, high-quality cocoa. It comes in two flavors, cocoa-raspberry and cocoa-ginger. It’s a really small amount, it’s not even an eighth of a teaspoon. You experience chocolate for a couple of hours. It’s very subtle and you’re not going to be irritated by it. A lot of people have suggested it’s cleared their sinuses. I’ve had no complaints so far.“The reaction has been superb.”

A study by the Hull Cough Clinic reveals that chocolate may help beat colds and the flu. Professor Alyn Morice says, ”About 300 people with a persistent cough are taking part in a clinical trial where they are being given the naturally occurring chemical theobromine, derived from the raw ingredient of chocolate, twice a day for 14 days. Early indicators are that 60% of patients experience some measure of relief. Although eating chocolate on a daily basis may have other unwanted effects, including weight gain and so on.”
