So Jeff, (me) is one happy camper, getting the opportunity to meet and greet with a Canadian Band Iconic Trio!
The Stampeders were here and I was hoping they’d have a ‘Meet N Greet’, signing at the break in their show or at the end. Turns out my wish came true after the performance at the Sault Community Theater…

I chatted with the boys…told them this was a ‘Bucket list concert’ for me and that they, The Stampeders were the entertainment for a High School Dance we hosted back in 1976, in Sudbury at Lasalle Secondary.
I remembered at the time being totally flipped out, that this group , The Real Stampeders, would be playing a gig in our high school gymnasium!
When I told the boyz, they said, ‘We really quite honestly, don’t remember much of the 70’s!
I said, “Me neither’..
I brought in my Stampeders, Greatest Hits record, which I found among other classics in a box in the basement! Also had them sign my YAMAHA G1, guitalele, which I purchased at Thomas Walls a few years ago.

I told them ‘ I learned the banjo intro to , ‘Sweet City Woman’. on it..so Ronnie King, the bass player, strummed a few chords on the thing and then they all signed it for me!

The one thing I will always hold dearly as a singer , performer and player myself, is what the guys said during the show…
‘We are all older, in aging bodies, but we can STILL SING!’ How true is that?
So I decided to never stop singing, be it for one, 10 or a thousand.. until such time as I could not physically do it.
It’s the same for the morning show on the radio station really.\
It’s partially a very personal decision, as I check old cassette tapes of shows I did as far back as the 90’s…and
compare them to shows this week, even, to keep trying to improve the conversation and stay with the times…

How bout those changing leaves!!!!!! A beautiful thing to witness right?

I took the snap shot for this story over the weekend at home….It’s so cool to have 4 seasons to brag on..
We truly DO live in an amazingly pretty neck of the woods!
