pears a plenty 1

SO I had all of these pears…some ripe some not..SO, what to do?
Well I embarked on a 3 hour tour with the cutting device and bowls of fresh pears that that grown on one tree in my yard.

The first thing I learned, was not to let the ‘greeny yellow’ pears get too rouge in colour.
With this type, yellowing is good.

The second thing, was that most of the pears were not symmetrical. This made for quite the hardship whilst I attempted to peel ’em!

The third thing I discovered was that the massive amount of sliced and diced pears, would really be reduced upon 20 to 30 minutes of boiling.

We anticipated buckets of pears…….ended up with 6 small bowls of grainy pear sauce.

Question…Was it worth the time prepping? I would have to say, not so much…..

Fetch me some apples and I will make the sauce.

With the remainder of the pears, I will watch as they ripen…then eat ’em..skin and all….YUMMY!

Oh, I would suggest having a blender as well to take those pears down to puree…A lot easier!
