(WAWA, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Detachments want to warn every one of a telephone scams that is currently targeting our local citizens. The scammers will call and advise that there has been unauthorized access to bank accounts and will request personal information along with access to the home computer.
OPP want to remind the public that Financial Institutions will not ask for access to your personal computer or any personal financial information.
If you discover that you have become a victim of a fraud or scam, contact your local police immediately.  If your credit cards or banking information are involved, notify the companies as soon as you can so they may assist you.  Occasionally checking your credit rating will ensure that you have not become a fraud victim.
