Premier Wynne finally announced a date for a Sault byelection.
Voters of the Sault riding which haven’t had provincial representation since December 31st when former Liberal cabinet minister David Orazietti stepped down, will go to the polls on June 1st.
Recently the Ontario Liberals nominated their candidate, former Sault Mayor Debbie Amaroso.
Candidates for the other major parties have had a lengthy head start with their candidates in place for months.
The Progressive Conservative candidate is city councillor Ross Romano.
Joe Krmpotich, who is also a city councillor, is running for the NDP.
Orazietti had held the riding since 2003 and previous to that the NDP held it from the mid-80’s.
