The Algoma District School Board is projecting further enrolment declines at both the elementary and secondary levels and as a result is planning to cut a total of 8 full-time equivalent teaching positions.
The plan is to cut four from the secondary level and 2 each from the elementary and the Board’s Alternative Education Program.
The Board is projecting its total secondary enrolment will drop below 3-thousand with a loss of 137 students.
It’s projecting a drop of 90 students at the elementary level.
