CitySSM    City council will be asked to give its approval at Monday’s meeting in moving forward with a project involving the widening of Black Road.  The City is looking to apply for provincial funding through the Connecting Link Program to support the project.  The pre-design estimate for the entire project is 5-and-a-quarter million dollars and the application will be for the first phase of the project estimated to be 2.7-million dollars.  The City’s application would seek a full 90% grant worth 2.4-million making the City’s share 270-thousand dollars.  Phase 1 would involve the widening of Black Road from McNabb Street northward for approximately 1-kilometre.  The preferred alternative for the project is to increase the number of lanes on Black Road to 4.
