Sault Ste. Marie, ON – Member of Parliament Terry Sheehan and the Canadian Government are encouraging Canadians to have their say on the 2016 Budget.
“We want Canadians from across the country, and from every walk of life to have their say and tell us what they want to see in the 2016 Budget,” said Sheehan.
A nationwide consultation on the 2016 Budget was launched by Finance Minister Bill Morneau on January 6, 2016. Delivering on the Liberal Government’s pledge of openness and transparency, Canadians across the country will participate in in-person and virtual pre-budgetary consultations where they will discuss issues including helping families make ends meet, supporting those who need it most, and making the right investments in infrastructure in order to create jobs, protect the environment, and keep our communities moving.
Individuals interested in participating online are asked to visit the Department of Finance website at http://www.budget.gc.ca/2016/prebudget-prebudgetaire/index-en.html where they can make a submission, share their ideas on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/YourMoneyMattersCanada/ , or on Twitter, using the hashtag #PBC16.
“It’s important that people in our riding get involved in this process. We have a lot of projects we need to work on here in the riding of Sault Ste. Marie and I need your help to make sure nothing gets left out. It’s really my job, and the Government’s job, to listen and then to act on what people are telling us,” said Sheehan.
