2015 was not a good year for the Sault Ste Marie Bridge Authority … and the prospects for 2016 don’t appear much brighter as the loonie continues trading near 70 cents or lower compared to the U-S dollar.  For the month of December there were less than 114,000 crossings on the International Bridge representing a 23 per cent decline from the year before with commuter traffic down more than 22 per cent.   One positive was a 6 per cent rise in cars pulling trailers.   There were just over 1 1/2 million crossings last year, down more than 20 per cent from 2014.
