ADSB_CLCC_Green_2_1600There was some brief discussion about surplus property at Tuesday’s meeting — the former Johnson Tarbutt Central School.  The property was left behind when students moved on to attend class at the new Central Algoma Elementary School.  As a result, the school building and land will be offered to agencies and organizations for the next 90 days.  If there is no interest, the public board will move on to the next phase for the sale of that property to other interested parties.

Recent labour deals between the province and teachers have resulted in additional Professional Development days this school year.  Algoma District School Board trustees agreed on May 20th as a third P-A day allowed by the province — up from two.  Those P-A days are in addition to four more provided by the school board.  The May 20th date for a Professional Activity Day still has to be agreed to by the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board and the French language public and catholic boards.
