Roberta Bondar second in Winnipeg poll for first Canadian woman on a bill

A poll for who would be the first woman on a Canadian bill is being done by the Winnipeg Free Press.  The list of five names includes Doctor Roberta Bondar, the first Canadian woman in space.  Current results have Doctor Bondar a distant second at 20 percent behind Nellie McClung, who helped get Canadian women the vote at 62 percent. The list of five also includes first female mayor Charlotte Whitton, first Canadian female MP Agnes McPhail and activist Buffy Sainte-Marie. Almost 21 hundred people have participated in the poll, which can be found along the right side of the main page at www.winnipegfreepress.com.
