(Sault Ste. Marie, ON November 22, 2016) – This holiday season, Sault College’s hairstyling program is giving back to our community by organizing and hosting the second annual Haircuts for a Cause. With the support of many local salons and staff and students of the Sault College hairstyling program, Haircuts for a Cause will offer free haircuts to those in need on December 11, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sault College salon.
“This annual event began as a way to pay forward kindness and generosity to our community,” says Jordin Boniferro-Knight, Sault College Hairstyling Professor. “In the spirit of giving, we want to offer our support to those in our community who are in need and provide free haircuts this holiday season,” she adds.
The Sault College hairstyling program is proud and excited to collaborate with various local salons, whose support is instrumental to the success of this event. “We have recruited the talents of many professional hairstylists, who have generously donated their time to provide quality haircuts. Our collective goal is to bring our skills together to lift spirits and spread joy to the many families and students who can benefit from something that many of us take for granted,” says Jordin.
We encourage community members to spread the word about Haircuts for a Cause, so we can reach as many individuals as possible. Those who are interested in taking advantage of this offering are asked to make an appointment by calling 705.759.2554 extension 2741.
