Hydro rates are going up again – as of Friday.   The Ontario Energy Board has rubberstamped another increase … and armed with Environment Commissioner Gord Miller’s suggestion that the difference between on and off peak rates be increased … he was quick to act.   Peak rates will rise by moe than 2 cents to 16.1 cents per kilowatt hour … Mid Peak will got to 12.2 cents … and Off Peak go to 8 cents.   It’s estimated it’ll mean close to $6 a month more for the average residential customer who uses 800 kilowatt hours a month.
