So much happened...as well as a Staycay where not much getting up before did NOT indeed occur. I awoke with my wife's alarm , sleeping in till 645. It was such a treat. It's one of those things that early morning peeps share when they take a vacation. Getting up usually, before the bird sing, the sun rise and traffic hits the Rush Hour streets, is indeed a treasure but it takes it's toll on a body too. I have been in radio 33 years next July and the majority of those wonderful years, I have risen according to most of our loyal listener accounts WAAAY TOO EARLY But I do have to say it's a most wonderful time of day....hours in the studio , nooone around, chatting with you each day. But I did turn off the smart phone most of the two weeks. And habit would have me turn on the tv before I was 100 percent awake to CNN and the Headline News of the Day. As much too, as I love my radio tunes, I kept them turned off for the most part. I did a few household gigs that needed to be attended to, like the last bit of raking and yard work. Put the lawn mower in the cellar for the season. In all honesty, I felt taking November holidays would certainly be cold, which as you know, was NOT the case. If fact, as I type this Web post, it's raining and 9 degrees as of 10am! The forecast through most of December shows very little snow accumulation and the recent days of driving rain has melted most of what was already on the ground here in the Soo. DWTS , Dancing With The Stars was great this season, with Laurie and Val taking home the Mirror Ball Trophy. Sadly, we lost a DWTS alum, who had just been on set two weeks ago, cheering on her tv daughter from the Brady Bunch, Maureen McCormack, who was Marsha Brady in the 70's tv sitcom. Mom Carol Brady, Florence Henderson, passing at the age of 82 last week, due to heart failure. Coincidentally, I had a Facebook memory pop up the morning we learned of her death....It was a picture of Florence Henderson competing in the Ballroom and lifting her blouse to reveal her bra! I re posted it and you can see it on my personal Facebook Page. And what about the new Prez Elect, Donald J Trump, who is still taking to Twitter to speak to his core supporters as well it seems, as his top aids and the 'dishonest media!'. Some experts say, 'Give him a chance..as the 45th President.' Other Pundants are of the opinion that, "he will not last a year'. I guess the impending question on people's minds is, 'Will Mitt Romney be the new Secretary of State?' I also spent some time writing songs and getting ready to Host the' Old Time Christmas Concert'this Saturday at Central United Church at 7pm, with EEZEE Country, Ruby John , and the Dave Anich Band and I may even push my way into doing a few tunes. Get tickets now at Fountain Tire 55 Black Rd. Hope to see you there! Bring the family. All are welcome. Proceeds to Christmas Cheer and the Salvation Army!!! It was so nice to see ELLEN among other Obama story makers get the ultimate Medal od Freedom last week! I will see you in the morning with the Best of Today's Country Music and some chatter too!
