Supplied by Sault Chamber of Commerce… Identification, Safety and Security for the Bridge Walk AND Bicycle Parade

Adults must have one of the following documents to enter the United States: ”   U.S. or Canadian passport; ”   Trusted Traveler Card (NEXUS, SENTRI, or FAST); ”   U.S. Passport Card; ”   State- or province-issued Enhanced Driver’s Licenses, ”   INAC or Form I-872 American Indian Card. Children and youths (15 and under) must be accompanied by authorized adult and must have a copy of their birth certificate. Please bring a minimum amount of carry along items. No animals allowed with the sole exception of seeing-eye dogs. For safety reasons, no rollerblades, rollerskates, skateboards, etc. are allowed.

29th Annual International Bridge Walk

The 29th Annual International Bridge Walk will start from the Norris Center in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan at 9:30am on Saturday, June 27th.  Walkers will cross the Bridge, finishing their walk at Mill Market in Sault Ste. Marie Ontario (approximately 3 miles start to finish). Walkers must be at the Norris Center prior to the 9:30am start.  For safety reasons, walkers arriving after the walk has begun will not be able to participate.

Shuttle Buses will depart from Mill Market in Sault Ste. Marie Ontario from 7:00am to approximately 8:15am (no later) to the Norris Center.  Cost is $3 / person or $12 / family.  Bus availability is dependent on bridge traffic. Seating is limited and is on a first come basis – please arrive early. Organizers will not guarantee busses or seating for late arrivals. Hot breakfast buffet will be available for $6.50 purchase at the Norris Center.

Shuttle buses returning to Sault Ste. Marie Michigan will be available after the walk until 12:00noon. Cost is $3 / person or $12 / family.

Bicycle Parade

Canadian participants are encouraged to either ride or transport bikes across before 7:45 a.m. The parade route begins and ends at the Norris Center. Bicyclists will ride across the bridge and turn around before going through Canada Customs and return to the Norris Center. Bicyclists must be able to complete the five mile parade route in less than one hour. No training wheels and no power assisted bicycles allowed. Pedal driven bicycles, adult tricycles, and quad cycles are allowed. Helmets are required by law for age 17 years and younger. Helmets strongly recommended for all. This is a joint event coordinated by the Sault Cycling Club and Soo Bicycle Club. Any questions call the Soo Bike Club at (906) 440-5134.
