Renaissance Place Corp was true to form in Provincial Court here yesterday – a no-show – for sentencing in their conviction for failing to comply with a city order that they secure their property – the former Northern Breweries site  downtown.   The city prosecutor had sought the maximum $100,000 but the JP ruled a $55,000 fine was in order – but included a prohibition order that left the door open for the city to pursue other ways of securiing the money needed to properly secure the site – which has been left to rot since 2006.    The southern Ontario company had planned a grandiose $80 Million condo project when it purchased the property in 2011, but it never did get started.
