(SAULT STE. MARIE, ON – February 16, 2016): Algoma University wants to hear from you! Algoma U has initiated a process to develop its five-year Strategic Plan and is seeking input from the community to set the direction and priorities for the University over the next five years.
The strategic planning process is being led by a 14-person facilitation team. The facilitation team wants to hear the opinions, ideas, and dreams that individuals and stakeholder groups from across the community and beyond have for Algoma U. The facilitation team will be hosting face-to-face consultation sessions with students, faculty, alumni, staff, Anishinaabe community members, business leaders, and education and research partners. In order to gather as much input as possible the team will also be soliciting feedback via email and through an online survey.
“The development of a strategic plan is one of the most important endeavors a university undertakes. I am confident that the strategic planning process will produce a vision for Algoma 2020,” said Dr. Craig Chamberlin, President and Vice-Chancellor of Algoma University.
“We are very excited to begin the strategic planning process,” said Dr. Pedro Antunes, Chair of the facilitation team. “It is vital that we have valuable input from both those inside and outside of the University. We strongly encourage everyone in the community to take a few minutes and complete the online survey or send us an email with valuable suggestions.”
The Strategic Plan, which will guide Algoma University through 2020, is expected to be presented to the University’s Senate and the Board of Governors for approval in June 2016.
