ForestFireThe Ministry of Natural Resources has reported three new fires in Northeastern Ontario over the last couple of days.  The fires in the Parry Sound and Algonquin areas ranged from a tenth of a hectare to a hectare and a half in size.  Two fires were being held and one is now out.  There are 12 fires burning in the Northeast region right now — eight are being observed, one is under control and three are being held.  The fire hazard in Northeastern Ontario was low to high as of late Friday afternoon.   A two week old Emergency Area Order around the Sudbury 38 fire east of Highway 144 remains in effect, but residents in a number of townships northwest of Sudbury are being allowed full ground access.
