Authority Board of Directors are pleased to announce that Ms. Corrina Barrett has been hired
as the new General Manager/Secretary-Treasurer effective May 6, 2019. The position was
advertised following the announcement of the departure of Rhonda Bateman. Thirty-five
applications were received for this executive position.
Ms. Barrett has most recently been the Program Development Coordinator at the Invasive
Species Centre. Prior to that, she has had a varied career working as Environmental Initiatives

Directors. “While we will miss the leadership and professionalism that Rhonda, our current
General Manager, brought to this role, we are confident in Corrina’s ability to move the
SSMRCA in to the future.”
“I am excited to accept this position with the Sault Ste. Marie Region Conservation Authority,”
says Barrett. I have always been passionate about conserving and sustaining our natural
environment, and I am eager to work with a great team and community partners who are
dedicated to protecting and improving our local watershed.”
The Board would like to welcome Ms. Barrett and is looking forward to working with her in this
new role of local leadership in the management of the St. Marys River watershed.
