2014 Orazietti crop

Sault MPP David Orazietti says he was very pleased with the decision announced on Friday that OLG’s lottery operations will remain in public hands.  OLG announced that the current request for proposal process for the lottery division has been cancelled…

Orazietti says this also creates a great opportunity with our community’s digital gaming task force to help support further investments in gaming and grow the capacity of this sector in Sault Ste. Marie.
Orazietti does say he sees the merits of going through the process.  He says all crown organizations, agencies and ministries need continued modernizations and reviews to ensure best value for taxpayer resources…

In reacting to Friday’s announcement, Mayor Provenzano says this lifts a major source of economic uncertainty for our city and we can be confident that lottery jobs and expertise will remain in our community.  There are over 550 employees that work at OLG’s headquaters in the Sault.  Still to be decided is the request for proposal process for the northern bundle regarding casinos.  Our charity casino employs almost 300 people.
