Watch out for children with the school year approaching

With the school year starting next week, a few reminders for motorists to watch out for children.  Some of that advice:

— Be prepared to stop for a school bus at ANY time.

— Never pass a school bus with its lights flashing.

— Drivers are also advised to stop for any pedestrians at crosswalks and school crossings.

— Slow down and drive with extra caution and watch for children in school zones.

— Leave space around school buses so children can get on and off safely.

More than 824 thousand children in Ontario travel on school buses every school day.
