The shutdown of operations at Tenaris Algoma Tubes is being extended.  Steelworkers Local 9548 President Cody Alexander says they met with management this morning and were told the shutdown would last into the 3rd quarter which would carry through at least to July.  When operations were shut down earlier this month, 230 employees were laid off on a temporary basis due to a lack of orders and the operation was left with a skeleton staff to carry out maintenance and maintain equipment. The company continues to face stubbornly low oil prices and the corresponding reduction in drilling activity.
