Sault Ste. Marie (September 30, 2020) – PUC Services Inc. was proud to accept an award in the category of worker safety during the first “virtual” Annual Meeting and Ontario Electrical Safety (ESA) Awards on September 24th. Every year, the Electrical Safety Authority celebrates notable achievements in electrical safety across Ontario.

The award recognized PUC’s dedication to keep workers and the community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. Efforts made by PUC at the beginning of the pandemic to provide community members and fellow workers with hand-made masks were most notably acknowledged by the ESA. These masks were sewn and distributed to community members and fellow workers at a time when they were not readily available.

As a result, local residents and PUC crews providing essential services were able to stay safe when they could not maintain physical distancing.

“During the COVID-19 pandemic, our staff stepped up to protect fellow workers and the community, advocating for safety in the communities we serve”, stated Robert Brewer, President and CEO of PUC Services Inc. “I would like to acknowledge PUC’s Chief Operating Officer Claudio Stefano and the entire Operations Team for their efforts to keep everyone safe during these challenging times.”
PUC would like to thank the ESA for this recognition. As the pandemic evolves, we will continue to work safely to deliver essential services to all of our valued customers.
