There are a number of positives when it comes to the latest jobs data for Sault Ste. Marie from Stats Canada.
The August data compared to the same month a year ago shows improvements in the unemployment rate, employment rate and participation rate.
The unemployment rate came in at 11% more than a half a percent better than August of 2019.
The participation rate which measures both the number of employed along with the number not employed but actively looking for work came in at 64.6%—-up almost a full percent.
The employment rate came in at 57.5%—-up more than 1%.
There were 38-thousand employed.
