Bursary Announced to Support Students in the Healthcare Field

(Sault Ste. Marie, ON June 9, 2020) – Although the last few months have been challenging, Sault College remains focused on the future and supporting its students throughout their educational journey. One of the many ways we are able to assist students is through the College’s Scholarship, Bursaries and Awards program. The College is proud to announce its newest bursary: the CIBC Future Heroes.

The CIBC Future Heroes Bursary program was created as a tribute to those who are bravely fighting COVID-19 and to support the next generation in their ambition of having a career in healthcare. Sault College students entering their first year in one of the following programs: Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Practical Nursing, Personal Support Worker or Gerontology, are eligible to apply for this bursary valued at $2500!

“Sault College is honoured to be selected as one of the post-secondary institutions in Canada receiving this bursary,” said Dr. Ron Common, President, Sault College. “Through this bursary we are not only celebrating our healthcare workers who have had an incredible impact on our current situation, but also the future of our healthcare through our students. We are grateful to CIBC for its generosity and for seeing the amazing value in supporting our students through these types of programs. We encourage all eligible students to apply today,” he added.

The CIBC Future Heroes Bursary application is now available to students for the 2020-21 academic year and can be accessed here.  More information about this and other Scholarships, Awards and Bursaries is available on the College’s Student Financial Assistance website.

The deadline to apply for the CIBC Future Heroes bursary is July 15, 2020.
