It is with much thought and consideration that the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie has decided to cancel the 33rd Rotary Science Fair Algoma presented by Tenaris, originally scheduled for April 2nd to 4th, 2020, due to the current situation surrounding COVID-19.
“This is a rapidly evolving situation which makes it unpredictable to plan for the science fair while ensuring the health and safety of the students and judges,” explained event Co-Chair, Dr. Dante Carlascio, “We are very thankful for the efforts put forth by our sponsors, particularly our Presenting Sponsor – Tenaris, volunteers, judges, teachers and of course the students. We are looking forward to an enthusiastic fair with great science in 2021.”
The club extends its sincere regret to the students who have put their time, effort, and resources into their projects. They are confident that the students will use the knowledge and skills they have learned through this process to succeed in future opportunities.
The club also sincerely thanks all of the educators and mentors who have brought the amazing world of science to students, inside and outside of the classroom.
