Local Liberal incumbent, Terry Sheehan has won the Sault Ste. Marie riding.

Sheehan edged Conservative hopeful, Sonny Spina with 39.1% of the vote after 171 of 181 polls counted. Spina picked up nearly 13,000 votes to Sheehan’s over 15,000 Monday night.

The NDP’s Sara McCleary had 22.6% of the vote while the Green Party’s Geo McLean garnered 4.3%.  The People’s Part of Canada’s Amy Zuccato had 1.8%.

Across the country, All leaders except, PPC leader, Maxime Bernier retained their seats with the Liberals making up a minority government,
