The city’s cycling route network will be expanding with council’s decision last night to establish cycling lanes for both Pine Street and Willow Avenue.
The Pine Street route will stretch from Queen Street to Northern Avenue and the Willow route involves McNabb Street to Northern Avenue.
It also means that on street parking will be prohibited for both streets through the cycling rotes.
Council has also given the go ahead to implement fan-friendly pricing at GFL Memorial Gardens for the upcoming Greyhound season at select concessions.
The pricing system includes 5-dollar beer for 10-ounce sizes with taxes included and 3-dollars for a fan-friendly option that includes a hotdog-french fires and popcorn again taxes included.
Last night’s meeting was also the final one for Chief Administrative Officer Al Horsman who’s about to complete his four year contract.
Horsman will stay on for another few weeks and is being replaced by City Clerk Malcolm White.
