The Market Mall was closed over the weekend by an order of the City’s Building Division due to excessive snow on the roof.
The entire Mall was closed except for the Metro Grocery Store due to excessive snow.
Once the excessive snow is removed, an engineer will need to inspect the roof for stress and possible damage and provide a report to the Building Division who will have the final say on a reopening.

The partial evacuation remains in place at the Blind River District Health Centre due to the amounts of snow on its roof.
It was a precautionary measure by the hospital and the last report on the Centre’s website indicates that snow removal efforts have allowed for the resumption of operations at the Acute Care Unit.
Some patients that had been evacuated have been allowed to return.
The partial evacuation remains in place for the Long-Term Care Unit at this time.
Outpatient, visiting services and appointments will resume today.
The partial evacuation took place more than a week ago.
