Country stars on the one-year anniversary of the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival shooting

Jason Aldean: “Thinkin about our Route 91 family today. #vegasstrong.”

Toby Keith: “58 lives were lost one year ago in the Route 91 tragedy in Las Vegas, Nevada. They are remembered not just today, but every day. #CountryStrong#VegasStrong”

Luke Combs: “One year ago today my world changed, my band and crew’s world changed, and the whole world changed. A night meant for music was silenced by the sound of gunfire. 58 people lost their lives that night and thousands more will never be the same. We are in no way fully healed, and my never be, but we are all a hell of a lot stronger and continue to move forward. Forward for the victims, forward for their families, forward for the fans, and forward for country music. No one could ever expect something like this to happen, so if you’re reading this just take a second to appreciate waking up today and getting to live your life and make sure you hug your loved ones a little tighter. If you’re suffering today, just know that this ole boy is thinking about you and that you are never alone. #CountryStrong #VegasStrong.”

Maren Morris: “Dear Hate, I hate to tell you that love is gonna conquer all…” Thinking of the fans we lost a year ago. You’ll always be the 3 chords and the truth. #Route91.”

Jake Owen: “I will never forget the evening of October 1st, 2017. A year ago today people were loving life. They were singing along. Families and friends. 58 lives were lost and thousands were injured and lives changed forever. You will always be in my heart and on my mind.”

Thomas Rhett: “Today my prayers go out to everyone affected by last years events. I pray that everyone affected buy this tragedy can find peace from the Lord and comfort beyond understanding. So much love coming from the Akins yo you today. ????”

Chris Young: “I don’t open up very often so I hope everyone takes this message as I mean it. It has been a year since #Route91 happened… so much loss for no reason during something that should have been a happy moment for everyone present. I was there, I’m lucky to be alive, and I will never forget the loss that so many had to suffer through that day and all the days since. I’ll never forget having to call my family saying I hoped to see them again. I love you all. Cherish every day you have.”

Reba McEntire: “Join me in pausing to remember those lost in the Route 91 tragedy a year ago today. My heart goes out to their families and friends. #CountryStrong #VegasStrong”

Blake Shelton tells Extra that he is ready to relinquish the title of People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive. “I think my reign is almost over… I remember it was right around Thanksgiving that that came out, so I guess whoever the new person is is about to take over and I’ll go back to being disgusting and ugly!”

Kelly Clarkson tells Entertainment Tonight that she hopes to add more country singers to her team on The Voice. “I want a country artist so bad because I love country music. But everybody always thinks that Blake is the only option. Calling all country artists, I want to work with you. Everyone country picks Blake.”

Chris Young tells Celebrity Cafe that he was inspired by classic country artists while growing up. “Marty Robbins, that’s an early throwback classic one. Keith Whitley I’ve always been a huge fan of, so there’s definitely a lot of people that have had an influence on my career over the years.”

Luke Bryan tells Battered And Brewed that he’s addicted to soup and BLT sandwiches. “I honestly don’t eat a bunch on the road. Usually a bowl of soup or lately I have been addicted to making a good old-fashion BLT.”

Luke Combs tells Gibson Guitars that he wasn’t a fan of country music as teen. “From the age of 10 to 18, I was listening to anything but country. I was really into Nirvana, really deep punk like the Dead Kennedys, hip-hop… What got me back into country was ‘Carolina’ by Eric Church.”

PREVIOUS MUSIC NEWS

CMT says country music radio stations will observe a minute of silence today at 1:05 p.m. Eastern time in honor of those, who lost their lives during the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival shooting in Las Vegas on October 1, 2017.

Hollywoodlife.com claims Blake Shelton is fine with Gwen Stefani not returning to ”The Voice” this season. A source tells the website; “With the success of the show with Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson, and the upcoming coach John Legendcoming into the fold, Blake feels that if the show is super successful with the newer coaches, then he is totally fine with not seeing Gwen come back. Plus a lot of her focus is on her Vegas show that goes deep into next year that she would like to continue.”

Cole Swindell tells Songwriter Universe that he started out in the country music world being a vendor. “Early on, I was out on the road selling T-shirts for Luke Bryan; that was my first job. I was also writing songs with any free time I had out there.”

Old Dominion’s Matthew Ramsey tells the Courier Post that having a personal life is a struggle when the band is on the road. “It’s not easy. It’s not easy at all. We don’t have much of a personal life right now, as much as we’re touring. We try to fly home as much as we can. We’re constantly trying to figure that out. There’s no real right answer.”

Russell Dickerson tells Billboard magazine that seeing his face on a Times Square billboard has been the most surreal moment of his career. “I think the Times Square billboard, that’s the coolest. It’s such a big exposure, and so many people are there. I grew up going to New York because we have family there. We get out of the car and look, and my face is on it. I’m like “THERE IT IS!” I mean, we’re screaming. So we run over and we get a bunch of videos — it’s just like, Times Square, what the heck? It was one of those moments where my adrenaline kicked in. A surreal moment of, like, I’ve worked so hard to get my career going and off the ground, and now here is an entire New York City block-sized billboard with my face on it. It was definitely one of those moments of achievement.”
