Happy First Day of Spring!

Where were you when American Idol first aired? I, honestly, don’t know. But for one contestant, she may not remember per se, but her Mama certainly does. Victoria McQueen is an “Idol” baby, having been born the same day as the show premiered on television. This year’s cut off age for contestants is June 11, 2002 – the day the show aired – and that’s exactly Victoria’s birthday. And it would seem this gal was born under the right sign, given she’s got some amazing chops that she used to dazzle the judges for a golden ticket to Hollywood. Victoria tackled some Stevie Wonder a Capella and wowed her way to the next round.

Congrats to the Stranger Things kids! After two hugely successful seasons, the actors are returning for a third round on Netflix with a shiny new raise.

According to Spin:

The cast of the Emmy-nominated show have scored major pay raises following an intense renegotiation ahead of the sci-fi drama’s third season. Sources say the new deals for the kids actors are worth roughly 12 times their previous salaries, and that the streaming giant is ponying up as much as $350,000 an episode for each of the show’s adult actors. Insiders say the deals closed last week as production on season three is scheduled to begin April 23. Netflix declined comment.

Although we don’t know what Ms. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) is earning, what remains is that, yes, the show is returning. And yes, I’m very, very excited.

And it looks like the Birth Control Pill won’t just be for women anymore. Early research has found that the Male Birth Control Pill is both safe and effective.

From US News:

A contraceptive pill for men is a step closer to approval after early trials of a once-daily pill showed it to be safe and effective, according to researchers.

The new pill, known as DMAU for its chemical name, dimethandrolone undecanoate, is similar to the female birth control pill. It contains a combination of hormones – an androgen, like testosterone, and progestin – said the study’s senior investigator, Dr. Stephanie Page, a professor of medicine at the University of Washington.Taken daily, it could bring sperm count low enough so a man cannot get his partner pregnant.

Well, now. That’s awesome.
