Thanks to the in studio guest chatting up Saturday’s ‘SNOWARAMA’ for Easter Seals ! The weather could not be better! Tons of snow and temps to -6! Ideal for raising funds for families with children with physical disabilities!

Here are the facts I gathered for the Facebook site!

Spend a fun-filled day riding with friends and family on 160 km of picturesque, groomed trails, take home some great prizes, AND make a difference in the lives of children, youth and young adults with physical disabilities in our community.

Participation is easy! Riders can participate with a minimum donation of $25, but to qualify for these great incentives participants must raise $100 (12 – 25 years old) or $150 (26 years old and over):

• Free breakfast
• Free lunch
• Gas top-up (up to $25)
• Trail day pass

Children 12 and under can eat for free and ride with their parents by fundraising an additional $20 per child (in addition to the $150).

“Riders get a lot of enjoyment out of the day, good food, good trails, good fellowship, but in the end, we’re riding for the kids. That’s what it’s all about.” – Brian Elliott, Snowarama participant since the event’s inception in 1974.

PRIZES! PRIZES! PRIZES!: The George Willis Trophy, named in honour of the St. Joseph Island resident who consistently brought in the most donations to Snowarama for many years, will go to the rider who turns in the most money on the day of the event. Last year’s winner: Allan Shields who raised $1,415.

LOCAL PRIZE DRAW: When you turn in $150, the rider receives one ballot to win great prizes from Construction Equipment Co., Dynatype Motorsports, Joe’s Sports and Surplus, Christie’s RV, Woody’s Wheels, North Shore Sports & Auto, Rivercity Motorsports and Premier Powersports Yamaha (all prizes valued over $200). For every $50 over the $150 amount, you receive an additional ballot.
