QUEEN’S PARK – Today, Ross Romano was officially sworn in by the clerks as the Ontario PC MPP for Sault Ste. Marie.
“This is without a doubt one of the greatest honours and privileges in my life,” said Romano. “I look forward to getting to work on behalf of the people of Sault Ste. Marie.
Since being named the MPP-Elect, Romano has been hard at work for the community and remains eager to improve Sault Ste. Marie for its hard-working constituents. Prior to his win, the PC party had not held this riding since 1981 and had been a Liberal seat for the last 13 years.
“I will put our community’s needs first, and I will make sure that our voices are heard by an out-of-touch Wynne Liberal Government that’s forgotten we exist. I can’t wait to get into the Legislature and hold this government accountable.”
“Ross’ election to the Legislature is a clear sign that voters in Northern Ontario are fed up with the Wynne Liberals,” said Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown. “For far too long the North has been forgotten about. I have no doubt Ross will be an effective representative for the riding, and he will make sure the Sault has a strong voice at the table.”
In addition to being elected MPP of Sault Ste. Marie, Romano was recently appointed the PC Critic for Northern Ontario Jobs and the Ring of Fire and looks forward to the needed development in these areas.
