You will want to give yourself plenty of time this morning as environment Canada says we received 17 centimetres of snow during the day yesterday and the snow continued through the night and more heavy snowfall is in the forecast for today.
Highway 17 north remains closed from Heyden to Wawa.  The highway has been closed since early last evening.
OPP report highway 17 east reopened just before midnight between the Sault and Echo Bay—-it had been closed for most of the evening.
Lake Superior State University’s main campus is closed for today.  Only essential personnel should report to work.
Final exams have been rescheduled to tomorrow and will be held at the same time and location as previously planned.
The Norris Centre and food service will operate as usual.
Late yesterday afternoon, city police had advised the public to stay off the roads unless absolutely neccessary as the winter storm reduced visibility on city roads to near zero.
In an eight hour period, there were 9 accidents with some involving injuries.
