(Sault Ste. Marie, ON) Wednesday, December 7, 2016 – During the recent official visit to Argentina, the Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, met with Argentinian President, Mauricio Macri, and a number of local business leaders. Issues of importance to Canada and Argentina that were discussed included the creation of well-paying jobs and the promotion of economic growth that benefits all citizens. Argentina remains an important market and commercial partner to Canadian businesses. There is recognized potential for Canadian businesses to increase commerce with Argentina, as the country implements an ambitious, inclusive, and sustainable economic plan with a strong focus on international trade and investment.
During the official visit, at MP Terry Sheehan’s request, Prime Minister Trudeau met with Tenaris CEO, Paolo Rocco while in Buenos Aires. The Government, once again, demonstrated its commitment to the Canadian steel industry and to the riding of Sault Ste. Marie.
