City police news release…
On the morning of the 12th of November officers from Patrol Services recovered a stolen Toyota Camry and a Chevrolet pickup.  Officers located stolen property in both vehicles. Officers from the Break and Enter Unit and Crime Suppression Unit were called out to assist with the investigation.
Three persons were arrested and taken into custody for possession of stolen property and a search warrant was executed at a residence in the east end of the city. During the search of the residence several pieces of stolen property were recovered.
Officers from the Break and Enter Unit and Crime Suppression Unit were able to match stolen property back to the following crimes:
–          A break and enter to Rona Hardware store compound from  October 29th
–          A break and enter to Steel City Gas from November 4th
–          A theft from Kelly’s Parkway from November 8th
–          A break and enter from Christie’s RV from November 9th
–          A theft from Classic Automotive from November 10th
–          A break and enter to three storage units on John Street from November 10th
–          Thefts from two vehicles from November 12th
–          A theft from a shed on Laura Street from November 12th
Further recovered items include a work bench, a dolly, air compressor, multiple hand tools and power tools, a laptop bag, a snowmobile, a utility trailer, 7 televisions, gas cans, personal documents, licence plates, an Ipad and two off road motorcycles.
The following accused appeared in bail court on November 14th and each was charged with 12 counts of possession of stolen property:

-23-year old Jordy DOYON (m) of Fish Hatchery Road
-32-year old Ryan ELLIOTT of Wellington Street East
-37 year old Cheryl TOOKENAY of Breton Road

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service would like to remind homeowners to record serial numbers for items whenever possible. In addition, if possible, mark your property with unique markings.  Often, these unique marks will assist officers in identifying stolen items.
