Sault Ste. Marie, ON – The public is invited to join Mayor Provenzano this evening for the inaugural lighting of the Community Christmas Tree, as part of the Queenstown Association BIA’s Moonlight Magic celebrations.
The tree lighting will take place at 7 p.m. in front of the courthouse on Queen Street. Free hot chocolate will be provided courtesy of Tim Hortons and young ones will be able to visit with Santa. As well, the Sault Transit Stuff-A-Bus will be on-site to collect donations for Christmas Cheer.
“I’m looking forward to lighting the Community Christmas Tree for the first time as part of Moonlight Magic,” says Mayor Christian Provenzano. ”With the tree, we’ll have a new event and an additional place where the community can gather to share in the holiday spirit. I hope this year marks the start of a fun, new tradition in Sault Ste. Marie.”
Special thanks to the City Public Works staff, the Queenstown Association BIA and the generous community sponsors who have provided lighting and decorations for the tree: Arauco, First General Services, Green for Life, McDougall Energy, and the Sault Ste. Marie Public Utilities Corporation.
