Sault Ste. Marie, ON  The Royal Canadian Mint is celebrating the 25th anniversary of
Dr. Roberta Bondar’s historic 1992 Discovery space mission through the release of a fine silver coin.
Named A View of Canada from Space the 2017 $25 pure silver coin offers
special features:
a convex shape that recreates the curvature of our planet
photo elements that provide glow-in the-dark colour
a tribute to a Canadian hero
the Discovery space shuttle¡¦s likeness in orbit, as seen on her mission crest
The Roberta Bondar commemorative coin is currently on display in the Civic Centre main lobby with viewing available 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
