Dr. David Eden, Regional Supervising Coroner for Inquests, today announced that a date has been scheduled for the inquest into the death of Trevor George Seaton.
Mr. Seaton, 28, died on May 22, 2014, while he was an inmate at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre in Sault Ste. Marie.  An inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the events surrounding Mr. Seaton’s death.  The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing similar deaths.
The inquest is expected to last five days and to hear from approximately 20 witnesses.
The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at the Delta Hotel, 208 St. Mary’s River Drive, Sault Ste. Marie.  Dr. David Cameron will preside as inquest coroner and Daniel Mitchell and Mary Pascuzzi will be counsel to the coroner.
