Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Raftis is pleased to announce the commitment of a trio of players to The Program.

2016 draft picks HOLDEN WALE, JACOB LEGUERRIER , along with Free Agent signee MATTHEW VILLALTA have inked their intentions with the club.

“We are really excited to add Holden, Jacob and Matthew to our organization. Each of them showed great potential last season but what really impressed was their performance and improvement since our spring development camp. The young talent for the Greyhounds is looking very promising and we are excited about the upcoming season and the seasons to come” stated Raftis.

Wale, a native of Brantford ON was selected by the Hounds in the 4th Round of the 2016 OHL Priority Selection.
The 6.00, 174-lb defenceman played the 2015-16 season with the Brantford 99er’s Minor Midget Hockey Club.
Following Sunday’s exhibition contest against Saginaw he was re-assigned to the Cambridge Winterhawks of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League.

Leguerrier was selected in the 8th Round of the 2016 OHL Priority Selection.
The 6.01, 183-lb defenceman was selected by the Hounds from the Gloucester Rangers Midget AAA program.

Villalta, a native of Godfrey, ON was originally invited to attend the Hounds 2016 Development Camp and returned to Main Training Camp recently completed.
The 6.02, 171-lb netminder played last season with the Greater Kingston AAA Midget Hockey Club.

All three of the latest signees for the Hounds were dressed for their first two exhibition games of the 2016-17 season.
Leguerrier and Villalta remain with the club.
