SSMPoliceA busy day for City Police. Officers arrested a Sault Ste. Marie man yesterday morning and charged him with robbery. It’s alleged that the accused robbed a male of an undisclosed amount of money by hitting him in the head with a blunt object and putting a knife to his ribs. 28 year old Tyler Seaton was to appear in WASH Court yesterday.

Police also charged a man after being called to a hotel on Trunk Road late Friday night. Officers were responding to a call regarding an intoxicated male, who was found to be on a probation order with conditions that he not consume alcohol. 48 year old Kai Kivi of Sudbury faces a charge of breach of probation and will appear in court on December 21st.

OPP were called to check two young offenders in a vehicle on Trout Lake Road north of the city Friday night. According to police, they had been involved in a single vehicle accident. That vehicle was discovered to be stolen from a business on Great Northern Road. It was later determined that the business was broken into and two other vehicles had been stolen and abandoned. Both young offenders were arrested and face several property-related charges when they appear in Youth Court on December 22nd.
