A local holiday tradition is almost here! Tomorrow at 6pm, Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be making their grand entrance as part of the Rotary Santa Claus Parade. Local organizations have come together to create, decorate, and light-up floats, trucks, bikes and even themselves to join the festive procession. Helping to ring in the season will be a new Handbell Choir made up of students from St. Mary’s French Immersion Catholic School sponsored by the City of Sault Ste. Marie Cultural Advisory Board and conducted by Barb Gallagher. The Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie will also be unveiling Santa’s brand new float! The parade route runs down Queen Street East, from Pim Street to Gore Street.
The White Pine’s Semi Tones, White Pine’s Pine Tones, Notre-Dame-du-Sault, and Bethel Bible Chapel will be entertaining crowds with carols as they wait for the parade in front of Dish Café, the Sault Museum, Stone’s Office Supply, and the Essar Centre, respectively.
Don’t forget to bring your letter for Santa Claus for the Canada Post Elves to collect as they make their way down the parade route.
Our parade marshal, David K. Marshall, has offered his personal guarantee that it will not rain the evening of the parade, but please remember that the temperature can drop very quickly and it is always best to bring extra layers!
