Another round of temporary layoffs will be taking place at Tenaris Algoma Tubes.  The company announced in a statement today that about 230 workers at Tenaris Algoma Tubes will be impacted effective October 30th due to market demand which has resulted in production adjustments at the plant.  Tenaris has communicated this development to employees with the United Steelworkers and employees are  expected to be recalled beginning November 23rd.  The company says the decision was driven by the persistent low price of oil and consequential reduction in drilling activity along with unfairly traded imports of tubular and line pipe.
