Team Jacobs Celebrity Golf Event raises $10,000 for Maternal Child Department at SAH

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON – Team Jacobs just keeps on winning, even out on the fairways in the middle of summer. The Team Jacobs Celebrity Golf Event presented by Prouse Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac was a ‘winning’ event for our community. Local supporters golfed with Canadian celebrities like Kaitlyn Lawes, Scott Moir, Natalie Spooner, and Chris Spring as well as celebrities with local ties like Marty Turco, Kyle Dubas and of course the members of Team Jacobs. The proceeds of the event were split up to support the Team Jacobs “Follow Your Dream” Bursary for Algoma University as well as to help purchase essential medical equipment in the Maternal Child Department at Sault Area Hospital.
The donation of $10,000 to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation’s Maternal Child Care Fund will be used to purchase an Infant Flow SiPAP System. This essential equipment will be available in our community hospital to help assist the breathing of the smallest patients in our community. The SiPAP System creates positive pressure ventilation to deliver gentle respiratory support for the smallest infants in the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit. The system makes breathing easier for the child, freeing precious calories to be used for growth and development.
