Canada Customs officers have been seizing eggs and poultry products being brought into Canada of late – sending them back to the U-S for disposal following restrictions on such products by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency due to concerns of Avian Flu that are still a concern in ten states.   Michigan is not among them – so eggs and poultry products clearly from Michigan farms are okay – not the place of processing.    Many of the items seen locally have been bought at Walmart and GFS and do not have the proper farm location listed.  You’re advised to read the fine print on any such labels, or else risk having it seized at the border.
