CitySSMThe Sault Ste. Marie Walk Of Fame award recognizes individuals who have achieved a provincial, national or international excellence in a competitive athletic endeavour.  It is also recognizes similar achievements in the cultural, academic or humanitarian field.  This year’s recipients are Helen Arvonen, who is known for her Gothic mystery novels, science fiction tales and short stories.  Curran is known for transforming ‘The Star’ into a daily newspaper more than 100 years ago.  In addition to authoring two books years later, he also established the first Community Day Parade in the 1920’s — better known now as Rotaryfest.  Arvonen and Curran will be honoured at a public ceremony this fall.
